the light of hidden flowers

sx-70 polaroid land camera, polaroid 600 expired film

Amazing that an old expired pack of polaroid 600 film I found this summer at a garage sale (sitting in the full sun probably all morning) and a one roll of a very dusty expired 4-pack of kodak gold I found at a drugstore at the beach would produce such bright and perfect memories.

For some reason it reminds me of the pablo neruda poem...

I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers.

Wonderful images! What kind of plant is that in the 5th photo down?

I'm always too scared to use expired in case the photos don't come out.

I love your Kodak gold photos. The first one especially :-)

anita ~ thank you :) I wish I knew but I don't!

leah ~ thank you! I think using expired film is fun just for that reason: I like it when there are unexpected color bars or light leaks, but there haven't been any with this film...yet. I did take an entire other roll which I hadn't wound properly, so had to start all over!

I agree - I've used expired Polaroid film before and it turned out with a nice golden haziness. Lovely photos!
